All performances during the Vancouver Stick Weekend take place at the Water Street Cafe in the historic Gastown District of downtown Vancouver. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings we’ll take over the upstairs part of the venue, better known as 2nd Floor Gastown jazz club.
2nd Floor Gastown
Co-owner Eli Brennan and Chef Alan Tse have transformed the upstairs into a great little jazz club with a fantastic dining experience. Folks come from all around just for the crab cakes, and Karen LOVES the Maple Butternut Squash Soup!
2nd Floor Gastown is an official venue of the Vancouver Jazz Festival.
The Water Street Cafe is in the heart of the popular Gastown District – home to several film and TV productions. The famous Gastown Steam Clock is directly across Water Street – a fact we will be reminded of every 15 minutes!
Did I mention the staff? Super friendly and efficient, though I only recognize them with masks on!
Water Front Station, a 5 minute walk, is the hub of transportation in the city. All subway lines terminate here: the Canada Line (from Richmond and YVR airport to downtown), Expo Line (Surrey, New Westminster and South Burnaby to downtown) and the Millenium Line (Coquitlam and North Burnaby to downtown).
The Seabus takes foot passengers across the channel to North Vancouver every 15 minutes.
